What is your college doing?
The colleges have been short-listed for a Green Gown Award in recognition of their achievements over the last 2 years, following the launch of the Greenthing project.
Organisers, the EAUC, say "the Green Gown Awards recognise the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges across the UK. With sustainable development moving up the global agenda, the Awards are now established as the most prestigious recognition of sustainability excellence within the further and higher education sector, as well as the environmental sector."
It is fantastic to have the achievements of the colleges recognised at this prestigious level.
Stephanie Chesters, the Environmental Manager, said 'Just to get through this first stage is a real achievement. The Green Gown awards recognise excellence in the sector and the competition is very high. We are very happy to have been included and are preparing the pack for the next stage now.' Fingers crossed we will have more good news when the awards are announced in November.
You can find out more about the awards and see the other short-listed entries at the EAUC website.
